Your Home Inspection report is generated with the use of a
laptop computer, 2 hand-held computers and digital imagery.
The report gives
recommendations to repair, replace or monitor components as
well as all observations of major concerns, possible
non-compliance with present standards, functionality or safety issues.
Digital photographs used in the report may also be used to
show the client a condition they cannot otherwise view due
to their limited access to the roof, attic, basement or other
restricted areas.
During the inspection all pertinent information is collected and
stored on a hand held "Pocket PC". With the use of voice
recordings, the report is then thoroughly customized to disclose the
exact nature of each observation, functionality and/or non-compliance
found by the inspector and when possible, observations are accompanied by digital photography.
The inspection and report are performed and prepared
for the sole, confidential and exclusive use and possession
of our clients only. Our service does not end when you
receive the written report. We will be happy to discuss your
questions and concerns at any time in the future at no extra
charge. The length of an average report is 35+ pages and
includes 20+ digital images and is usually completed within
1-2 business days.
Although we do take you through
an extensive 'on-the-site' narrative during the actual
inspection, we take particular pride in our computer
generated narrative reports which are thorough and detailed.
Not only does the report note any problems found, but also
lists systems and components which are unsafe,
non-functional or likely to become so in the future. Although created mostly on-site, the report is not completed
100% because it may involve more extensive research and
reflection, which can be better performed in an office
setting.
Receiving the Report: The most efficient and
expeditious way to obtain the report is via email. This is NOT a bulky
attachment but an email with a link to our server where you may download the report
in .pdf format and open it using Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is installed on most
computers. You can also download Reader free here.
The average report is 35-40 pages in pdf format when
printed out.
The written report can also be mailed the next business day after
the
inspection. However, if special arrangements are made prior to the
inspection or extenuating circumstances exist, the report may be
available within 24 hours and be available for client pick-up or drop-off if in the
Cape Ann area.
